NORTHFIELD GOP ENDORSES SANGARI FOR THE 9TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF ILLINOIS
Glenview, IL --- LTC Sargis Sangari, USA (Ret.), resident of Skokie, received the endorsement of the Northfield Township Republican Organization today.
Committeeman TJ Brown recently spoke about LTC Sangari, explaining that “Sargis is the embodiment of what America is all about. He has dedicated his life to serving the people of the United States, and his desire to run for office is just another example of how he is putting country over self. He is a truly remarkable American and public servant.”
In response to the endorsement, LTC Sangari said that “I am incredibly thankful to the Northfield GOP for their endorsement in my journey to Washington. The United States has welcomed me with open arms, and I believe it is my duty to give back to a country that has given me so much. I pledge to advocate and be a voice for the great citizens of Illinois’s 9th Congressional District, and I would be very grateful for the privilege of serving the people of Illinois. The country desperately needs decent, reasonable, service-oriented Americans championing common-sense reform in Congress, and that is exactly what I aim to do.”
Born in Iran, Sargis Sangari moved to the United States at age 10 after the Iranian Revolution. Working diligently to take advantage of this new opportunity, Sangari attended, and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. While at DePaul, he received a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) 2-year scholarship, commissioning as an Army Infantry Officer after graduation. Throughout his extensive and decorated Army career spanning over 20 years, LTC Sangari served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, principle staff advisor, and Team Leader. He has over 6 years of combat deployments to posts around the globe. Using his extensive knowledge on military, civil, and global affairs, he founded the Near East Center for Strategic Engagement (NEC-SE) on September 11, 2014, in remembrance of the first responders and Americans murdered in the horrific 9/11 attacks. The NEC-SE provides military and political analyses and assessments to both private and public interests; briefing the Office of the Secretary of Defense, supporting CENTCOM and USASOC units, National Security Council.
